Event Metrics

The overall goals of events are:

  1. Increase activity.

  2. Sense of community.

  3. Increase number of participating members.

  4. Growth/attention spikes. Did events bring in a flood of newcomers to the community? Did the event cause a spike in attention outside of the community during that time?

To optimize events you need to benchmark and test the following:

  1. Which types of events gain the highest levels of participation? Compare the same type of regular, online, events with one another to identify which get the highest levels of participation. you’re looking for categories of events, not individual events.

  2. What event times are most popular?

  3. What type of promotion for an event achieves highest number of registration/attendances?
